I am flabbergasted with the biased and irrational outpouring from a supposedly academic person in a Premier Medical Institute. Let me first correct your misconception, I have utmost respect and am proud of our traditional systems of medicine. It is those who qualify in these systems but practice modern scientific medicine who denigrate the alternate systems. Your statement regarding IMA going on strike on tabling of NMC Bill “Does it not betray their sense of invulnerable arrogance of lording over healthcare system ?” lays bare your agenda.
Your entire argument is on lines that the bridge course will promote research and will get India a Nobel Prize as was got by Prof Tu You for discovery of Artemisinin. I am shocked how blatantly you have equated an illegality and a purely financial motive with altruistic academic research. A six month bridge course through Indra Gandhi Open University Correspondence course if could produce Nobel Laureates India would not be the laggard it is in healthcare indices that it is. It is attitude of people like you who do not permit India to progress.
A very simple measure which will encourage and promote AYUSH is to permit only AYUSH care for all Government Employees including ministers and bureaucrats. Using the hard earned reputation and stature of an institute like PGIMER to further a political agenda is most unfortunate. It is clear you are acting as a puppet singing praises for your masters. It would be better for you to use your talents for false propaganda in Political Field and leave academics for academicians.
I would suggest you go through the following link and prepare a point to point rebuttal for arguments put forth rather than the vitriolic diatribe which has been published unfortunately by a very respected newspaper .
I normally am not personal in my mails but your article in Tribune masquerading as an academician has forced me to respond publicly.
