Are we not hypocrites ?                                                                                                                           May 25, 2015

We scream hoarse against dictat of MCI and PMC regarding action to be taken by them in case doctors resort to strike. We decry our deprivation of a basic right to strike. We also beat our chests and wail against increasing incidence of violence against doctors, unjust victimization of doctors and poor work environment of doctors.

But when tested we fail to unite and support the doctors at PGIMS Rohtak who are bravely holding out against political pressure to end strike called after an incident resulting from death of a pregnant lady. Do they not deserve our support. Are institutional doctors not our brothers in profession. Is what they are doing wrong. Would we not do the same in their shoes.

Why then are we so quiet. Are we muzzled in the all powerful BJP regime. MLAG fully supports the action taken by PGIMS doctors to protest the poor working conditions and being frequently made scapegoat for unforseen and unfortunate incidents where loss of life occurs. Because as doctors we are in proximity when death occurs (this being our profession) blame is usually thrown on us. I request IMA Haryana, IMA HQs to support doctors of PGIMS Rohtak in their protest.
